Maternity photography has always been a genre of photography I've been less than enthusiastic about. I think this is because every time I do a search on Pinterest for "maternity photos" I am inundated with cutesy pictures of a pregnant woman in a field holding a chalkboard sign reading "It's a boy!" That's not my style and quite honestly I find those types of images cheesy.
So when my sister approached me about doing maternity photos for her, I decided to do things differently. I didn't want her images to come off as cheesy, I wanted them to be elegant in the same timeless, cinematic style I try to achieve for all of my portraiture. Her session is the way I think maternity photography should be; classical and hopefully as relevant on our walls 100 year from now as they are today.
